Keep your Uzui Tengen 32cm PVC statue sharp with a simple dusting, cleaning, and display routine that protects the paint, swords, and base.
Quick answer
Display your Uzui Tengen statue on a stable, dust-free shelf away from direct sun, and clean it monthly with a soft brush and mild soapy water on a microfiber cloth. Handle it by the base, not the swords or headband.
Why PVC statues need a routine, not just occasional dusting
PVC is durable, but repeated handling and household dust can dull painted details over time. A consistent routine protects the crisp sculpting and anime-accurate colours without requiring special products.
The 32 cm height makes this statue a shelf centrepiece, so it catches more light and dust than smaller figures. That visibility is also a reminder to check it monthly rather than waiting for visible buildup.
Display spots that reduce cleaning and fading risk
Direct sunlight and heat sources speed up paint fading and can soften PVC. Choose an interior shelf away from windows, radiators, and kitchen steam. A closed display case adds protection but is optional; open shelving works if you dust regularly.
The custom base with Japanese text is part of the look, so leave enough clearance around it. Avoid placing the statue where cables, drinks, or heavy books can knock it over.
When to skip water and use dry methods only
If the statue has loose dust or you are unsure about the paint finish, start dry. Water is safe for most PVC, but never submerge the figure or let moisture sit in joints or the base. For light surface dust, a dry soft brush is enough and avoids introducing moisture.
Skip alcohol, acetone, and abrasive cleaners entirely; they can damage the paint and plastic. If a stain does not lift with mild soap, leave it rather than scrubbing harder.
Monthly care steps for your Uzui Tengen statue
- Clear the shelf and set a soft work surface: Lay a clean microfiber cloth on a flat table. Lift the statue by the base with both hands and move it there, keeping the swords and headband clear of nearby objects. Never lift by the swords or headband; they are the most fragile-looking parts and can bend or snap.
- Dust from top to bottom with a soft brush: Use a clean, dry makeup brush or soft paintbrush. Start at the head and work down, letting dust fall away rather than pressing it into the paint. Pay attention to the hair, headband, and sword guards. A weekly two-minute dry dusting prevents buildup that needs wet cleaning later.
- Wipe painted surfaces with a barely damp cloth: Mix a drop of mild dish soap in a cup of water. Dampen a microfiber cloth, wring it out until it barely feels wet, and wipe the main painted areas. Follow with a dry cloth to remove any moisture. Do not let water drip into the base or joints; moisture trapped there can cause problems over time.
- Clean the base separately and dry it fully: Wipe the custom base with the same barely damp cloth, then dry it immediately. Check that the Japanese text area is clean but not soaked. If the base feels loose or wobbly, stop and check that the statue is seated correctly before displaying it again.
- Return the statue to a stable, shaded spot: Place the statue back on a shelf away from direct sun, heat, and traffic. Confirm the base sits flat and the swords are not touching a wall or neighbouring item. Rotate the statue slightly every few months so one side does not collect all the light and dust.
