Compare the Deku and Luffy lightboxes on price, power options, and display style so you can choose your first anime night light for a desk or shelf.
Quick Answer
Choose the Deku lightbox if you want the lower upfront price for a first anime night light. Choose the Luffy lightbox if One Piece is your main fandom and you want the layered paper look as a desk centerpiece.
What actually differs between the two
Both lightboxes share the same construction and lighting approach: precision-cut layered paper in a durable acrylic frame, an LED backlight with remote control, and two power paths (USB plug-in or battery). The meaningful differences are the character artwork, the catalog price, and which fandom you want to look at every day.
Because the power and material setup is identical, your decision comes down to price and character preference rather than features. That makes this a simpler first purchase than comparing lamps with different brightness or size specs.
The battery detail that catches first-time buyers
The remote control for both lightboxes requires one 3V lithium battery that is not included due to shipping restrictions. You will need to buy that battery locally before the remote works. If you plan to use the remote from day one, pick up the battery at the same time you order the lightbox so you are not stuck with a plug-in-only setup on arrival.
The lightbox itself can run via the included USB plug-in option or battery power, so the missing remote battery does not stop the light from working. It only affects remote control until you supply the battery.
Decision Rules for Your First Anime Lightbox
- If price is your main constraint: Pick the Deku lightbox. It carries a lower catalog price than the Luffy lightbox while offering the same layered paper, acrylic frame, LED backlight, remote control, and dual power options. Set a budget before you compare artwork so the character choice does not pull you past it.
- If One Piece is the fandom you want on display: Pick the Luffy lightbox. You are paying more for the Luffy artwork, not for extra lighting features, so choose it only when the character itself is the priority.
- If you want remote control immediately: Add a 3V lithium battery to your local shopping list for either lightbox. The remote will not work until that battery is installed, though the light still runs through the included USB plug-in option. Check your local battery stock before ordering if remote control matters on day one.
- If you are unsure which character to commit to: Start with the Deku lightbox as your first anime night light. The lower price makes it the lower-risk way to test whether a layered-paper lightbox suits your desk before spending more on a second character.
